Presidential Grants Fund will annually allocate 8 billion rubles for implementation of NPO projects

Non-profit organizations of the Republic of Tatarstan can apply for the grant of the President of Russia for development of civil society. Financial support will be provided by the Presidential Grants Fund. Every year for 2019 and for the planned period of 2020 and 2021 more than 8 billion rubles are provided in the federal budget for the grant support of non-profit non-governmental organizations. This was announced today by the Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan, Oleg Pelevin, at a press conference in the "Tatar-Inform" Information Agency.

He noted that Tatarstan took an active part every year. Last year, in the first competition, 58 projects from the republic received grants of almost 79 million rubles.

As Oleg Pelevin said, applications for participation in the first competition in 2019 would be accepted until March 15. The grant can be claimed by NPOs operating in the following areas:

- social services, social support and protection of citizens;

- protection of public health, promotion of healthy lifestyle;

- support for family, motherhood, fatherhood and childhood;

- support for youth projects;

- support for projects in the field of science, education, enlightenment;

- support for projects in the field of culture and art;

- identification and support of young talents in the field of culture and art;

- preservation of historical memory; protection of the rights and freedoms of man and citizen, including protection of the rights of prisoners;

- environmental protection and animal welfare;

- strengthening inter-ethnic and inter-religious harmony;

- development of public diplomacy and support of compatriots;

- development of civil society institutions.

Among the novelties of the current year, the Deputy Minister noted that in the areas of “supporting projects in the field of science, education, enlightenment”, “identifying and supporting young talents in the field of culture and art” and “developing civil society institutions”, projects with a deadline of implementation of more than 18 months (up to three years), which begins no earlier than July 1, 2019 and ends no later than June 30, 2022 may be submitted.

Anton Dyganov, Head of the Center for Innovations in the Social Sphere of the Entrepreneurship Support Fund of the Republic of Tatarstan, noted that if necessary, contestants could get advice on filling out an application from resource center experts operating in the republic.
