Volume of shipped innovative goods of Tatarstan grew by 35.1% over five years

The volume of innovative goods shipped in Tatarstan over the past 5 years has grown to 435.6 billion rubles, which is 35.1% more. The share of innovations in the total volume of goods shipped amounted to 19.6%. Results of scientific and innovative activities of Tatarstan were summarized by the scientists of the Center for Advanced Economic Research of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan. They relied on data from Tatarstanstat in the analysis.

Over the past 5 years, spending on research and development in the country increased by 45% (from 14.2 to 20.6 billion rubles). The most active period is from 2016 to 2017. Then the growth amounted to 4.5 billion rubles.

Total expenses for technological innovations in the republic increased by 22% (from 64.4 to 78.4 billion rubles). The trend was significantly affected by a jump in the exchange rate in 2014 (peak volumes up to 95.7 billion rubles).

Implementation of measures to stimulate scientific and innovative activities in the country allowed to reverse the negative trends that emerged before 2013. The number of organizations engaged in innovation activity increased by 7% (from 156 in 2014 to 167). Now Tatarstan is one of the most developed scientific and innovation centers of the Russian Federation.
