Results of the socio-economic development of the Republic of Tatarstan in 2018

At the end of 2018, the industrial production index was 102.0% of the level of 2017, the volume of products shipped was 2,818 billion rubles.

The volume of agricultural production amounted to 216 billion rubles (97.1% in comparable prices to the level of 2017). The industry performance in 2018 was influenced by abnormally hot weather and a lack of precipitation.

The volume of construction work amounted to 349.1 billion rubles, or 99.5% in comparable prices to the level of 2017. 2 409.9 thousand square meters of housing (100.1% of the level of 2017) was commissioned.

There is an increase in consumer activity of the population. Retail turnover in 2018 amounted to 917 billion rubles, or 106.1% in comparable prices to the level of 2017.

The consumer price index in December 2018 compared to December 2017 amounted to 103.7%, which is lower than the average Russian level by 0.6 percentage points.

The situation on the labor market of the republic remains stable. At the end of December 2018, 10.2 thousand unemployed citizens, or 0.50% of the workforce (in the end of December 2017 - 0.58%) were registered at state employment service agencies.
