Farid Abdulganiev: “We have close cooperation with Kazakhstan”. Possibilities of Astana Financial Center were presented to Tatarstan Entrepreneurs

Astana International Financial Center presented its opportunities to Tatarstan entrepreneurs today. The meeting was held in Kazan. Astana Center was created at the initiative of President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbaev, and is intended to become a financial hub for the entire Eurasian region.

“We are closely connected with the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Minister of Economy of Tatarstan, Farid Abdulganiev, noted, - this is indicated by the foreign trade turnover between our Republics. According to the data of Tatarstanstat, it amounted to more than 1 billion US dollars only in 2017 and 2018. Last year, a Cooperation Agreement was signed between the non-profit microcredit company Entrepreneurship Support Fund of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Damu Entrepreneurship Development Fund JSC (Republic of Kazakhstan). At the end of 2017, with the support of the Export Support Center of the Republic of Tatarstan, 28 SMEs (small and medium-sized businesses) have concluded export contracts with 86 counterparties from Kazakhstan”.

The main areas of operation of the financial center in Astana include development of capital markets, asset management, and development of the Islamic finance sector, management of private funds, new financial technologies, as well as priority of "Green" finance.

 “We see the interest of Russian business in attracting financing from new sources. Despite the difficult economic situation, Russian companies, especially from the medium-sized business segment, are actively developing. We are ready to offer access to a wide range of financial instruments that will help Russian business, as well as companies from the countries of the Eurasian region, to attract additional funds for their development”, commented Kairat Kelimbetov, Manager of the Astana International Financial Center.
