This year, Tatarstan Strategy-2030, that was jointly developed by all of us, turns 3. According to the Law on Strategy Approval (of 17.06.2015 No. 40-ZRT), it can be adjusted once in 3 years, if necessary.

According to instruction of President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Nurgalievich Minnikhanov, work is ongoing to introduce changes in Strategy-2030. First of all, it should correspond to the development strategy of the Russian Federation until 2035, as well as take into account the emerging technologies of the developing digital economy.

Each citizen of the republic is given the opportunity to participate in determining its future.

It can be done on the website of Strategy-2030, where everyone can leave their suggestions in the section "Participate in the discussion of the Strategy".

On February 15, on the sidelines of the Russian Investment Forum “Sochi-2018”, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a panel session "Is it easy to be an entrepreneur? The view of business and government”, with Sberbank CEO and Chairman of the Board German Gref being the moderator. The event was broadcast live on the “Russia 24” TV channel.

The participants of the panel session and speaking businessmen and officials discussed the topical issue of what prevents entrepreneurship from fulfilling their potential in the country? It was noted that entrepreneurs complain of  unnecessary administrative pressure, unscheduled inspections, unaffordable credit resources and a lack of infrastructure necessary for the development. Besides, the lack of entrepreneurial competencies and the lack of qualified staff  become significant obstacles to development.

During the session, Gref mentioned the Republic of Tatarstan as a successful example of entrepreneurship support

In the afternoon, Minnikhanov took part in the session "Monotown: Projecting the future".

Speaking during the session, representatives of the regions with the cities with monoeconomy discussed issues on the interaction of regional and municipal authorities and business in the development of mono-cities, the use of the initiative of active citizens and their involvement in the development of single-industry cities.

There are 319 single-industry cities in Russia, 36 of them obtained the status of Priority Social and Economic Development Areas. These mono-cities are located in 30 federal entities.

 

On February 15, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov held some meetings and business talks during the Russian Investment Forum in Sochi.

In particular, a meeting with Italian Ambassador to Russia Pasquale Terracciano discussed topical issues of mutually beneficial cooperation, prospects for the further development of Italian business in the republic.

Minnikhanov noted that Tatarstan actively cooperates with Italian companies as part of relations between Russia and Italy. He thanked the Italian Embassy in Russia for organizing the visit of the delegation of the Republic of Tatarstan to Milan in December 2017 and also reminded that the delegation of the Association of Italian Industrialists in Russia visited Kazan in September 2017.

On February 16, Tatarstran Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in a meeting of the local Council of Leninogorsk municipal region of the republic to sum up the results of social and economic development of the region in 2017 and set tasks for 2018.

Making a keynote report, Head of the region Ryagat Khusainov informed the meeting about the indicators of social and economic development the municipality reached in 2017 and outlined the tasks for the current year.

 

On February 15, in Sochi, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev visited the exhibition at the Russian Investment Forum. 

Being a unique platform for promoting and developing projects in the investment and operational stage of the implementation, the exhibition includes promising investment projects of federal and regional significance.

Krasnodar region, Leningrad region, Moscow region, St. Petersburg, Saratov, Tula, Rostov regions, the Republic of Tatarstan have their stands at the exhibition.

Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov told Medvedev, who visited the stand of the Republic of Tatarstan, about the most promising investment and innovation projects implemented in the region, including the Alabuga Special Economic Zone,  the Innopolis Special Economic Zone and the innovative city of Innopolis, the InnoKam Kama Innovative Territorial and Production Cluster and others.

Dmitry Medvedev made a report at the plenary session “Investing in the regions, Investing in the future”.

On February 15, at their meeting on the sidelines of the Russian Investment Forum, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Head of the Board of Directors of the Chelyabinsk Tube-Rolling Plant Andrey Komarov discussed issues related to cooperation in a number of joint projects.

In particular, in December 2013, the Ministry of Education and Science of the republic and Rimera Company signed the agreement on cooperation in the field of personnel training. The project was supported by the Agency for Strategic Initiatives and was called "The College of the Future of Tatarstan".

Further cooperation in the field of training highly skilled workers, in demand on the labor market, was also discussed at today’s meeting.

The Memorandum on cooperation of the Republic of Tatarstan with the Bank for Development and Foreign Economic Affairs (Vnesheconombank) and the Agency for Strategic Initiatives to Promote New Projects, autonomous non-profit organization, was signed today within the Russian Investment Forum in Sochi.

It was signed by Rustam Minnikhanov, President of the Republic of Tatarstan, and Sergey Gorkov, Chairman of Vnesheconombank.

There was also a working meeting between Rustam Minnikhanov and Sergey Gorkov shortly before the signing of the memorandum. During the meeting, which was also attended by Farid Abdulganiev, Minister of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan, issues of further cooperation with Vnesheconombank regarding the implementation of a number of investment projects in the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan, and cooperation in other areas were discussed.

Today, during the Investment Forum in Sochi, Rustam Minnikhanov, President of the Republic of Tatarstan told about the experience of the Republic of Tatarstan in meeting the needs of the Russian Federation's economy in qualified specialists in the field of industrial management using the example of the Corporate University of the special economic zone "Alabuga".

Let us recall that Rustam Minnikhanov takes part in the events of the Russian Investment Forum Sochi-2018. Farid Abdulganiev, Minister of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan, also takes part in the Forum in the delegation of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Rustam Minnikhanov, President of the Republic of Tatarstan, met today with Maksim Oreshkin, Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, within the Russian Investment Forum in Sochi. Farid Abdulganiev, Minister of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan, also took part in the meeting.

Issues of developing a unified mechanism for the development of territories with preferential conditions for doing business in the Russian Federation were the main topic of the discussion, in which also participated governors of the regions – members of the Association of Innovative Regions of Russia (AIRR).

Governors of the Kaluga region, the Ulyanovsk region, the Perm region, representatives of the Regulatory Impact Assessment Department of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, the Department for Regional Development of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation and others took part in the discussion.

Farid Abdulganiev, Minister of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan, takes part in the events of the Russian Investment Forum Sochi-2018 (February 14-16, 2018) as a member of the delegation from the Republic of Tatarstan, led by Rustam Minnikhanov, President of the Republic of Tatarstan.

During the Forum Farid Abdulganiev visited the session "Best Practices in Social and Economic Development" with the participation of D. Kozak, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, as well as the session "Is it Easy to Be an Entrepreneur? Opinion of business and government". It is expected that the Minister of Economy will also attend the session "Monocities: Projecting the Future" with the participation of Igor Shuvalov, First Deputy Prime Minister of Russia.

A number of documents – memorandums and agreements concerning the economy of the Republic of Tatarstan – will be signed during the Forum.
