The main goal of the program is to ensure increased productivity and increase the number of highly productive jobs in the priority sectors for the country as petrochemicals and engineering, providing about 40% of the total industrial production in Tatarstan.

Economy Minister Midhat Shagiakhmetov in the delegation of the Republic of Tatarstan headed by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov took part in the X Krasnoyarsk Economic Forum. Krasnoyarsk Economic Forum takes place in 2004, with the support of the Government of Russia and is one of the most effective activities of the country to discuss topical solutions for the economy, development and innovation.

Ministry of Economy prepared rating of socio-economic development of the municipalities of the Republic of Tatarstan for 2012. Traditionally occupied the leading position Almetyevsky (1st place), Nizhnekamsk (2nd place), Laishevsky (3rd place) areas and Kazan (4th place).

The seminar is held 2 and 9 February 2013, in accordance with the action plan for adaptation sectors of the economy and social sphere of the Republic of Tatarstan to the economic conditions in the framework of the World Trade Organization and the Customs Union in 2013.

In 2013, the country is scheduled to conduct a series of educational seminars for employees of the executive authorities, municipalities, businesses and organizations on issues related to the various sectors of the economy in the face of Russia's membership in the WTO.

January 24, 2013 at the Ministry of Economy held a meeting on the establishment of the Republic of Tatarstan Machine Tool cluster. The subject of discussion was the outcome of dating representatives of the Machine Tool Industry Cluster of St. Petersburg with the state machinery equipment of the leading enterprises of the republic (KHP, KMPO, CAPO, Kazankompressormash, POZIS) and further cooperation. Study visit Petrograd specialists of Tatarstan enterprises held on 22-24 January.

The Labor Efficiency Improvement Workshop was organized by Tatarstan Ministry of Economy for the representatives of enterprises and authority bodies of the Tatarstan Republic. Lubomir Gogela, - Executive Director at the Czech machinery cluster build around its center in the city of Ostrav – was invited as expert. Lubomir Gogela talked about the experience of developing & operating machinery clusters in Czeck Republic based on the case of the Czech National Machinery Cluster.

The workshop was organized by the Ministry of Economy in the frames of the developing Regional Labor Efficiency Improvement Program 2013- 2016 for Plants in Tatarstan Republic Machinery & Petrochemical Complex – a long-term dedicated program.

Among the workshop participants was Midkhat Shagiakhmetov, Tatarstan Minister of Economy, Sergey Lozinsky, Partner at Strategy Partners Group, representatives of key machinery and petrochemical enterprises in the republic, representatives of technology park structures, authority bodies and public structures.

From 15 to 17 January 2013 in Tatarstan remains a working visit to Volgograd Region delegation led by its governor Sergei Bozhenova. During the visit, the delegation of the Ministry of Economy today met the Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan Sariah Sirazievoy Minister of Economy, Foreign Economic Relations and Investments of the Volgograd region Elvira Lagutina. The meeting was also attended by heads of departments of the Ministry. During the hour and a half of communication were also touched upon almost all activities of both agencies.
