Russia took the 27th place in the ranking of innovative economies

Russia's economy gained 12 points out of 100 and ranked the 27th place in the ranking of 35 countries by level of innovations.

Italy and Poland became neighbours in the list. The ranking was composed by the German Academy of Sciences together with the Federal Union of the German industry

(BDI) and other German research centres.

Switzerland has been the ranking leader for many years, which this time has received 75 points out of 100 possible.

The rating of the innovations level has five theme groups: Economy, science, education, state and society. A separate rating of the economy digitalization, also prepared by experts, has six major groups: in addition to the above mentioned, it includes a business model.

Russia is the strongest in the economy (19 points, the 26th place), education (21 points, the 24th place) and state sphere (28 points, the 24th place) out of the five indicators of the first ranking.

In the groups "science" and "society," Russia won zero points. According to the second ranking (digitalization of the economy), Russia received 18.5 points and occupied the 29th place. Finland got 69.5 points being the leader of the ranking.

The partners of Russia in BRIC also received low points in both ratings. In the innovation ranking, Brazil and India earned zero points and occupy the last two places. South Africa got 4 points and the 30th place, and China got 19 points and the 25th place. In the ranking of digital economy development, the last 35th place was occupied by South Africa, Brazil occupies the 33rd place, and North Korea and India the 25th and 26th places respectively.
