On the territories of the Main Directorate of the Federal Penitentiary Service there are production areas with urbanized communications and specialized equipment. The enterprises of the correctional system of the Main Directorate of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia have production capacity in the Republic of Tatarstan:

- Metal processing;

- Wood processing;

- Garment industry;

- Production of agricultural production, etc.

When using the services of the Main Directorate of the Federal Penitentiary Service, the SME entities save on rent (no rent), salaries for employees (the  convicts have one minimum monthly wage - 7500 RUB), storage of manufactured goods (no rent), and purchase of equipment for production (the Main Directorate of the Federal Penitentiary Service has its own production capacity).
