Tatarstan is among Russia’s leaders in supporting the tourism business

The Republic of Tatarstan is one of the leading regions in terms of the volume of state support received by the tourism business. More than 220 million rubles have been allocated to small and medium‑sized businesses in Tatarstan — this is the fourth‑highest result across Russia.

The support was provided through the “umbrella” guarantee mechanism of the SME Corporation as part of the national project “Efficient and Competitive Economy”.

Moscow (736 million rubles), the Sverdlovsk Region (263 million rubles), Saint Petersburg (257 million rubles) and the Moscow Region (207 million rubles) are also in the top five in terms of the amount of state support received.

According to Rosstat data, in the first half of 2026 the republic was among the most visited regions in the country. From January to June, tourists made 1.5 million trips to Tatarstan.

Overall, 43.2 million tourist trips were recorded across Russia in the first six months — this is 4.3 % more than in the same period last year. At the same time, the flow of foreign visitors increased by 20.1 % and exceeded 2.5 million visits.

Tatarstan offers a comprehensive set of support measures for small and medium‑sized businesses, including those operating in the tourism sector — both financial and non‑financial.

Companies from Tatarstan can obtain preferential microloans for development and other purposes. These are available both through traditional banking and via partnership financing.

Guarantee products are also available to businesses: if an entrepreneur does not have sufficient collateral, the Guarantee Fund of the Republic of Tatarstan (subordinate to the Ministry of Economy of the RT) acts as a guarantor.

Non‑financial services include support and co‑financing for participation in exhibitions, as well as assistance with service certification. In addition, businesses can get expert support at the regional “My Business” centre and discuss complex business issues. “Umbrella” guarantees (a mechanism provided by the SME Corporation) are also available in the region: the fund assumes part of the risks, making it easier for businesses to obtain large loans.
