From applications to real projects: Tatarstan is a leader in supporting student entrepreneurship

According to the results of the implementation of the seventh stage of the federal program "Student Startup", the region ranks second both in terms of the number of competition winners and the number of applications submitted. Within the framework of the federal Technology project of the national project "Efficient and Competitive Economy", the Student Startup program serves as a platform for young innovators seeking to turn their scientific developments into successful business projects. The Republic of Tatarstan actively cooperates with the Fund for Assistance to the Development of Small Enterprises in the scientific and technical field, which allows students of universities of the republic to receive the necessary support.

This year, more than 1,700 applications were submitted from Tatarstan, among which 293 winners were identified (13% of the total number of winners). Moscow takes the first place, and St. Petersburg takes the third one.

In total, 12.6 thousand applications were received for the competition in the Russian Federation, of which 2,250 became winners. The highest success rate was recorded in the areas of "Digital technologies" and "New devices and intelligent manufacturing technologies".

During the seven stages of the selection process, more than 42,000 applications were submitted throughout Russia. Of these, more than 7,9 thousand (19% of the total) came from the Republic of Tatarstan. This level of participation indicates the high innovative potential of Tatarstan youth.

The results of the competition are no less significant: out of almost 9.8 thousand winners across the country, about 1.4 thousand projects (14%) were developed by students from Tatarstan. The high percentage of winners highlights the quality of the startup projects presented by the region, confirming Tatarstan's leadership position in stimulating and supporting student entrepreneurship.

The program was launched to stimulate the development of technological entrepreneurship. A grant of 1 million rubles helps teams create a legal entity and develop a viable prototype or product.
