Tatarstan plans to build infrastructure for factories using VEB.RF funds

4 October 2022, Tuesday

One of the first applications received by VEB.RF from single-industry towns is from Naberezhnye Chelny of the Republic of Tatarstan for the construction of infrastructure facilities for factories producing refrigeration freezing equipment and water heaters. The total investment in investment projects will amount to more than 9 billion rubles.

Thus, the city has a request for the construction of off-site networks, in particular, storm sewers, water supply and sanitation networks for two plants. For these purposes, VEB.RF plans to allocate more than 65 million rubles. The total cost of construction of infrastructure facilities will be over 160 million rubles.

“Since the Supervisory Board of VEB.RF approved new support measures for single-industry towns, we have been waiting for the first applications from entrepreneurs. And now they've started doing it. We continue to work at the same pace and with the same return, so that as many investment projects as possible “come” to VEB.RF and receive funding,” commented Irina Makieva, Chief Managing Partner for Urban Development of VEB.RF.

As a result of the implementation of investment projects until 2025, more than 1,000 new jobs will appear at enterprises.

As a result, the single-industry city of Naberezhnye Chelny will become not only the birthplace of KAMAZ trucks, but also the center for the production of high-tech household appliances: refrigerators, washing machines, televisions and other equipment in demand on the Russian market.
