Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan, Minister of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan Midkhat Shagiakhmetov held a meeting of the working group on sustainable development of the economy with the participation of municipal districts in an off-site format - representatives of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan, together with the Chairman of the State Duma Commission on Economic Policy Maxim Topilin, paid a working visit to Yelabuga Municipal area. As part of the visit, the operational headquarters working group visited the backbone enterprises of the city, as well as residents of the Alabuga special economic zone, discussed with the management of the companies the current work under sanctions and development plans.
The work of the working group of the Operational Headquarters was organized in 5 main areas: providing the population with basic socially significant goods; maintaining employment of the population; uninterrupted operation of backbone organizations; implementation of investment projects; and adaptation of small and medium-sized businesses to new conditions.
During the visit, Midkhat Shagiakhmetov visited 5 backbone organizations of the Russian economy - ESSEN Production AG LLC, ElAZ Production Association JSC, as well as Alabuga SEZ companies: P-D Tatneft Alabuga Steklovolokno LLC, Elabuga Battery Plant LLC , Kastamonu Integrated Wood Industry LLC. The Minister of Economy noted that all these enterprises are developing, despite the sanctions, they are solving the issues of import substitution and logistics.
During the visit, Midkhat Shagiakhmetov discussed problematic issues with the management of enterprises that they face due to sanctions.
“As part of the work of the working group of the Operational Headquarters to ensure the sustainable development of the economy, we continue to visit backbone enterprises included in the federal list of backbone organizations of the Russian economy. Today there are 60 such enterprises in the republic, they form 35% of the economy of the republic, they employ 140 thousand people. It is important to ensure the smooth operation of these enterprises. We are in direct contact with enterprises and today's visit to companies is dedicated to discussing the current problems they are facing, developing measures to support and assist enterprises,” the minister said.
Within the framework of the meeting of the working group, measures to support small and medium-sized businesses were discussed. Another issue of the meeting was the work on import substitution on the resources of the Republican Marketing Center. The meeting also discussed maintaining a comfortable investment climate in the country. The minister instructed the sectoral ministries and executive committees of the regions of the republic on balance commissions to continue considering investment projects where there are risks, working out in detail with each investor the possibility of obtaining state support measures, including financial support. In addition, during the meeting, the situation on the labor market was discussed.
In conclusion, the minister instructed the members of the working group to keep under control issues in 5 main areas for ensuring sustainable economic development.
