International licensing society and "Innokam" Association signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of intellectual property protection

13 November 2019, Wednesday

The III international forum "Intellectual property and economy of Russian regions" is held in Kazan on November 12-13. The Forum was attended by representatives of the business community and experts from major Russian cities-Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yakutsk, Cheboksary, Nizhny Novgorod, Veliky Novgorod, Ulyanovsk, as well as foreign partners from the United States, Germany and China.

These States are, along with Japan, Singapore, the UK, the world's technological leaders and form a high share of added value through the use of intellectual property. Over the past 15 years, these countries have seen a sharp increase in the share of intangible assets in the balance sheets of high-tech enterprises.

At the same time, as the participants of the plenary session of the Forum noted, the backlog of Russian enterprises in the share of intangible assets from the markets of developed countries remains significant. The solution to this problem lies in the field of patent law: new technologies and developments protected by patents can contribute to effective innovation development. At the same time, the companies that are the first to integrate these innovations into their business processes will be the most competitive in the market.

The participants also discussed the state strategy in the field of intellectual property, the nuances of intellectual property management at enterprises, measures of state support for high-tech business in the Republic of Tatarstan. In addition, within the framework of the first international Forum, the international licensing society (LES International) and the Innokam Association signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of innovative development and promotion of activities related to the protection of intellectual property. The initiative was a logical continuation of the only program in Russia for the development of the intellectual property market, which has been implemented in Tatarstan since 2016.

Recall, at the end of 2018, the Republic of Tatarstan took first place in the Volga Federal district in terms of the number of patent applications filed and became one of the leaders of Russia in the rating of innovative development of regions. In 2019, Tatarstan was the first of the subjects of the Russian Federation to sign a tripartite Agreement with the Ministry of economic development and Rospatent on the implementation of recommendations on intellectual property in the regions.

The second day of the forum is devoted to educational master classes and seminars on participation in grant programs and protection of intellectual property when entering the international market.
