Tatarstan rose higher for one position and ranked second in the top three innovative regions

St. Petersburg, Tatarstan and Moscow became the leaders of the rating of Association of Innovative Regions of Russia. The results were announced today at the anniversary X Gaidar Forum “Russia and the World: National Development Goals and Global Trends”.

It is worth noting that the republic for the first time rose to the second position (for the last five years, Tatarstan occupied the 3rd place, in 2012 – 4th). According to the Minister of Economy of Tatarstan, Farid Abdulganiev, socio-economic conditions for conducting innovation activities were strengthened in 2018, organizations engaged in technological innovations showed an active work, and the number of research and development projects increased. Work in this direction will be continued, the Minister concluded.

The rating of innovative regions of Russia is the established tool for determining the level of innovative development of entities, developed by the Association of Innovative Regions of Russia in 2012 in conjunction with the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, which is based on 4 main indicators: research and development, innovative activity, socio-economic conditions and innovative activity of the region.

The rating reliably reflects changes in the innovative development of the economy of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, since based primarily on official statistics.

Since 2013, the Republic of Tatarstan has traditionally been one of the three leaders in this rating.
