Rustam Minnikhanov: Tatarstan actively cooperates with Chinese provinces
Today Rustam Minnikhanov, President of the Republic of Tatarstan, met with the leaders of the three Chinese provinces - Sichuan, Zhejiang, Shandong. The meetings took place at the site of the IV Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok.
At the meeting with the Secretary of the Party Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) of Sichuan Province Mr. Peng Qinghua, the President of Tatarstan stressed that Sichuan is a developed industrial center of southwestern China. Such branches of the economy as automotive, metallurgy, construction, medicine and pharmaceutics, hydropower, textile industry, etc. are developed there.
Rustam Minnikhanov said that a number of documents on cooperation were signed between Tatarstan and Sichuan province. The General Consulate of China is open in Kazan. The President of the Republic of Tatarstan expressed confidence that the Republic of Tatarstan and Sichuan Province have good prospects for cooperation. "Many Chinese companies work successfully in Tatarstan. We hope that business people from Sichuan province will also find their business segment in our market", Rustam Minnikhanov said.
After the meeting, in the presence of the President of Tatarstan and Mr. Peng Qinghua, an agreement was signed on cooperation between the Children's Republican Clinical Hospital of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Chinese and European Medicine Clinic of Sichuan Province.
Then, Rustam Minnikhanov met with the secretary of the party committee of Shandong Province, Liu Jiayi. The President of Tatarstan noted that Shandong became the first province of the PRC, with which Tatarstan signed a cooperation agreement (2008). A good example of productive cooperation, according to Rustam Minnikhanov, was interaction with the corporation Hyer, which opened a plant in Tatarstan for the production of refrigerators and works on the construction of factories for the production of washing machines and kitchen equipment. In addition, the cooperation of the Tatarstan company KAMAZ and the Chinese company Veichai in the field of automobile engines is actively developing. "All these examples vividly demonstrate our close economic ties", concluded Rustam Minnikhanov.
During the meeting with the Secretary of the CPC Committee of the Province of Zhejiang, Che Jun, Rustam Minnikhanov recalled his visit to the province in May this year. "We held productive meetings and a business forum, visited the largest companies - Alibaba and Hikvizhin", he said.
The President of the Republic of Tatarstan notes that Zhejiang is one of the most developed provinces of China, taking the leading place in terms of attracting foreign investment in the country. "You have a well-developed chemical industry, high technology, e-commerce, agriculture", added Rustam Minnikhanov.
At the end of the meeting, Rustam Minnikhanov and Che Jun signed an agreement between the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Government of Zhejiang Province on trade and economic, scientific, technical, social and cultural-humanitarian cooperation.
