The Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan has already approved the project of planning of the special economic zone, which will be located in the territories of Nizhnekamsk, Almetyevsk and Leninogorsk municipal districts of the Republic.

The construction of engineering, transport, innovation and social infrastructure is planned to begin in the second quarter of 2020. The construction will be carried out at the expense of a private investor, without budget funding.  The strategic investor in the project is PJSC "Tatneft".

SEZ "Alma" plans to attract at least 17 residents. Currently, 8 agreements of intent have been signed with anchor residents. Companies plan to implement their investment projects there: LLC "Polyolefins", LLC "Maleic", LLC "Ventoks", LLC "Strojservis", LLC "Gazoviy vector", LLC "AgroIdea", LLC "Evakem Technology", LLC "Inoxica".

As Minister of economy of the Republic of Tatarstan Farid Abdulganiev said earlier, according to forecast indicators, by 2025 the volume of investments in the SEZ "Alma" will reach 67.9 billion rubles. More than 1,400 new jobs will be created.

"The development of new industries will have a positive impact not only on the economy of those areas where they will be localized, but also on the economy of the Republic as a whole. A significant part of the local raw materials is processed outside Tatarstan and tax revenues go with this raw material from the regional budget. Our task is to make them stay, " the Minister said.
