Schoolchildren from Tatarstan can take part in the Olympiad on financial literacy and entrepreneurship
How to manage pocket money wisely, plan purchases and protect yourself from scammers – online Olympiad on the Учи.ру. educational platform will help you figure that out. The Olympiad for schoolchildren from 1st to 9th grade will give answers to the most important financial questions. The event is held with the assistance of the Bank of Russia, the Ministry of Finance of Russia, the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia in accordance with the objectives of the national project "Small and Medium-sized Entrepreneurship". Interest in the Olympiad has been growing over the years: in 2021, more than 800 thousand schoolchildren participated in it, and in 2022 – more than 1.6 million.
For the first time, the Olympiad includes tasks on insurance, as well as on achieving a financial goal – to save money for a gift. Schoolchildren will also be offered to try themselves in a entrepreneurial role: open a virtual enterprise, purchase equipment for it, think over pricing, promotion and customer service. At the end of each stage, feedback is provided – participants will be able to understand which solution is most effective.
"The ability to manage money competently remains one of the key skills for a comfortable life for any person. The interactive format of the Olympiad on financial literacy and entrepreneurship is an effective tool for acquiring the necessary knowledge and involving children in the study of topics about proper interaction with money. When solving tasks that represent situations close to real life, participants get an idea of how to develop their business, how to set financial goals, and what ways to invest funds exist," Ilya Parshin, CEO of the Учи.ру educational platform, shared.
To participate, you need to register on the website finance.uchi.ru or log in with a username and password from Учи.ру. The Olympiad will end on March 31. Participants and winners will receive diplomas, certificates and certificates of achievement, which will be posted in their personal accounts.
"Now the interest of young people in independent work, the realization of talents is especially noticeable, not just in hiring, but in personal projects and startups. We consider it important to prepare and tell young people about the basic principles of doing their business in time. The development of an entrepreneurial initiative, the transition from an idea to its implementation and successful implementation is more successful on the basis of systematic knowledge about financial, banking processes, the taxation system and other fundamentals of financial literacy. Not only lectures and master classes are already regularly held for schoolchildren, but also specialized forums, case championships and open lessons. The game format of involving children in complex issues definitely helps not only to increase economic and financial knowledge, but also to really interest young people," said Tatyana Alexandrovna Ilyushnikova, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation.
"Thanks to the national project "Small and Medium Entrepreneurship", schoolchildren from the age of 14 can receive a grant for the development of their business, as well as undergo training and understand how to start their own business. The first steps on this path can just be done with the help of the Olympiad. The Olympiad helps to master the principles of financial literacy and understand how a particular tool works using concrete examples from life, without memorizing the correct wording of answers to general theoretical questions. The tasks are compiled taking into account the situations faced by children of different ages. This approach allows one to gain confidence and overcome psychological barriers, including those that arise before the launch of a real startup," said Sofia Malyavina, CEO of ANO National Priorities.
