The Ministry of Economic Development named the best special economic zones: Tatarstan is again in the top

The Ministry of Economic Development together with the Association of Clusters and Technoparks presented the IV rating of the investment attractiveness of special economic zones (SEZ). In 2020, the rating included 16 SEZs from 12 regions of Russia. Experts have identified the best industrial-production and technology-innovation zones of the country.

The leaders of the rating today are large and long-standing industrial special economic zones. The first place for 4 years in a row among industrial and production special economic zones is taken by the SEZ of the Republic of Tatarstan (Alabuga), also the four leaders include the SEZ “Lipetsk” (Lipetsk region), SEZ “Tolyatti” (Samara region), SEZ “Stupino quadrat” (Moscow region). Tatarstan “Innopolis” entered the four leaders of special economic zones of technology and innovation type.

For many residents of the noted sites, the period of preferential tax preferences has already ended, but the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation expects a full return on budget investments in the next 2-3 years, noting that it is important to evaluate the real efficiency and return on a particular site after 10 years of its operation.

When compiling the rating, the number of residents, the volume of investments made, the availability of benefits and preferences for investors, the availability of infrastructure, the investment attractiveness of the region, the openness of information about the SEZ on the Internet and other parameters were taken into account.

It should be noted that over the 15 years of the existence of the SEZ mechanism in Russia, they have attracted more than 830 residents. Since the establishment of the SEZ, residents have invested almost half a trillion rubles and created more than 42 thousand new jobs.

Including almost 250 billion rubles were invested by foreign residents. The annual inflow of investments into the SEZ is about 70-80 billion rubles.

Let us recall that the special economic zones of the Republic of Tatarstan were also noted among the best in the last year's rating.
