The main trends in socio-economic development of Tatarstan in January-February 2020

Tatarstanstat provided data on the main trends in the socio-economic development of the republic in January-February 2020. With regard to macroeconomic indicators - according to the results of the first two months of the year - the industrial production index in Tatarstan amounted to 105.1% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, the volume of shipped products, in turn - 433.3 billion rubles.

The growth relative to January-February 2019 is observed in the production of beer - by 33.7%, tires and tubes - by 27.9%, gasoline - by 17.9%, diesel - by 9.3%, as well as paper and cardboard - by 10.5%.

Agricultural output amounted to 27.1 billion rubles, or 103.0% in comparable prices compared to the level of January-February 2019. 84.0 thousand tons of cattle and poultry for slaughter (in live weight) (106.3% compared to January-February 2019), 280.6 thousand tons of milk (105.7%), 214 ,3 million eggs (102.5%) were produced in farms of all categories.

The volume of construction work amounted to 25.1 billion rubles, or 101.8% in comparable prices compared to the same period last year. In turn, commissioning of 578.1 thousand square meters of total housing area was provided.

Retail trade turnover amounted to 151.5 billion rubles, or 103.7% in comparable prices compared to January-February 2019, including for non-food products - 87.1 billion rubles (102.9%), for food products, including drinks and tobacco products - 64.3 billion rubles (104.8%).

The consumer price index in February 2020 compared to December 2019 amounted to 100.7%, including for food products - 101.1%, non-food products - 100.3%, services - 100.7%.

At the end of February 2020, 12.35 thousand unemployed citizens, or 0.61% of the workforce, were registered with state employment service institutions.
