Investment development and SEZ discussed at a meeting with the Latvian delegation

The Ministry of economy of the Republic of Tatarstan held a meeting with the delegation of the Republic of Latvia headed by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Latvia to the Russian Federation Maris Riekstins.

During the visit, the parties exchanged experience of investment development, as well as the creation and organization of special economic zones. Despite the fact that the first Latvian SEZ today is about 20 years old, the delegation asked to share the secrets of success created in 2006 on the territory of the Republic of SEZ "Alabuga".

The Ministry of economy of the Republic of Tatarstan said that the work to attract investors is based on continuous analysis. Proposals to become a resident are addressed, first of all, to those who benefit from accommodation in this territory. The great advantage of the SEZ is the availability of industrial, engineering, transport and customs infrastructure. There are also a number of tax and customs benefits for residents. In addition, in the special economic zone "Alabuga" the work of the Resource center is organized – a unique platform through which the effective interaction of the candidate for work and the personnel service of the resident is carried out.

The role of support from the leadership of the Republic is high-Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, being the Chairman of the Supervisory Board, personally holds meetings with potential and existing investors.

Representatives of the Latvian delegation showed great interest in studying the mechanisms of the special economic zones of the Republic of Tatarstan.
