The law aimed at reducing the administrative burden on business was signed

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed Federal Law No. 302-FZ of August 03, 2018, which aims to improve tax administration and reduce the administrative burden on business. This is reported on the official website of the Federal Tax Service.

This law presupposes the introduction of changes in part 1. Tax Code of the Russian Federation:

- the terms for carrying out a desk audit of the VAT tax return is reduced from three to two months;

- now only justified reduction of tax on the basis of data modified in the finalized declaration may be a subject to re-exit inspection on the basis of an updated declaration with a reduction in tax amount;

- the restriction for re-calling by the tax authorities of documents is extended to all documents, regardless of the reason for their submission, including in the context of the demand for documents (data) in accordance with Art. 93.1 of the Tax Code of the Russian Federation;

- the terms for submitting documents within the framework of the "counter review" is increased from five to ten working days;

- an addition to the tax audit act will be drawn up based on the results of additional tax control measures. In such acts auditors will record the essence of these events, as well as the conclusions drawn from their results. Taxpayer has the opportunity to review this document and prepare objections to the arguments contained therein. This will increase the objectivity of the verdict to be passed.

These changes will take effect on September 6, 2018.
