Rustam Minnikhanov: Corporate Institute of SEZ "Alabuga" gives in demand knowledge and skills
Corporate Institute of the Special Economic Zone "Alabuga" has established itself as a successful project providing students with a truly in demand knowledge and skills. It was announced today by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov at a meeting with graduates of the 4th wave of the Corporate University of the Special Economic Zone "Alabuga". The meeting was attended by the Minister of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan Farid Abdulganiev, as well as the graduates of the 4th wave, students of the previous courses who already work in the SEZ.
The Corporate University of SEZ "Alabuga" is a unique three-month intensive training program, one of a kind in Russia. It is aimed at obtaining knowledge "first hand" from top managers of international companies operating in the special economic zone. Based on the examples of enterprises, opened in the SEZ "Alabuga", heads of enterprises, engineers and managers of the key divisions run practical courses for students on the industrial facility management devoted to planning, budgeting, plant construction and operation, logistics, lean production and human resources management issues. As part of the training program, each students prepares a project work, which he then defends at the end of the program.
In his welcoming speech for the participants, Rustam Minnikhanov noted significant experience accumulated in the Corporate University of the SEZ "Alabuga". "The participant selection process is very serious, and there are already positive results of attracting new talented staff, - noted the President of the Republic of Tatarstan. - The knowledge and skills, which you get while talking to your mentors, are in high demand".
The selection of students of the fourth wave of the corporate university of the SEZ "Alabuga" was traditionally held in several stages. Over 3 thousand applications for participation were submitted, and the best 25 were selected.
Director General of the SEZ IPT "Alabuga" JSC Timur Shagivaleev spoke about some features of the forth wave of the Corporate University. He said that this time all students worked on one project, the development of modernization program for water utilities of small cities of Russia, encompassing the Yelabuga water utilities, controlled by the SEZ IPT "Alabuga" JSC. Every student was tasked to study the operation of similar water utilities and seek the support of the region's government for promoting water utilities subsidy program on the federal level.
Today, the graduates of the program Artyom Galiev and Ignat Petukhov explained how this work was done and told about its results. The team members visited 20 regions, 60 water utilities and studied their financial and technical condition, as well as their modernization plans. Financial activity models for 18 water utilities, approved by their heads, were obtained. Heads of 9 regions sent letters to the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Utilities of the Russian Federation about the need for a federal subsidy program for modernization of water utilities.
The graduates of the previous courses told about their work in the Special Economic Zone "Alabuga". Niyaz Mukhametzyanov reported on the "100 leaders" personnel development program prepared and implemented by the SEZ now. This program is aimed at attracting to the "Alabuga" young and ambitious people, who, maybe, don't have the necessary skills, but are willing and eager to study and develop. The beginner leaders of today in 5 years shall become specialists capable of multiplicating the success of the "Alabuga" on other industrial parks of Tatarstan and beyond it.
Irina Alimentyeva reported on the leader identification tools used by the "Alabuga", these are collective computer business games developed by the managing company. These tools have already been used when selecting potential employees of the "Alabuga" in a number of higher education institutions of Tatarstan. Similar game tests will be conducted in 30 higher education institutions across Russia, and the current employees of the SEZ will undergo the leadership assessment.
Finally, the graduate of the first wave of the Corporate University, Deputy General Director of the SEZ "Alabuga" TImur Mingazov presented the results of work on the inclusion of the SEZ to the federal list of industrial parks, which made it possible to attract funding from the budget for developing infrastructure of the SEZ using the mechanism provided by the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No.1119. Based on the results of the 1st quarter of 2018, the Republic of Tatarstan received RUR 365 million from the federal budget for refunding costs, and these funds come from the tax revenues of the "Alabuga" residents.
"I think it is important to make up a team, - the President of Tatarstan said at the end of the meeting. - And "Alabuga" makes a team, that can manage projects in Russia and abroad".
"Concentrate your abilities on creating management companies - that's what the market needs now, - Rustam Minnikhanov said to the management of the SEZ. - Managing industrial sites, industrial parks, special zones, attracting residents, federal funding - that's what is required now. It must be the focus point".
