Rustam Minnikhanov asks the Russian Government to limit the turnover of powder milk

16 February 2018, Friday

On February 16, on Friday, on the sidelines of the Russian Investment Forum in Sochi, during the meeting of the head of government with governors, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov appealed to Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev with a request to limit the turnover of powder milk in the country.

“Dmitry Anatolievich, I would like to say that milk has always lacked in winter, our republic produces a lot of milk and milk has always exported. Such a situation has happened this year: no export, milk prices decreased by five – eight roubles than last year and, of course, it creates a big problem for the citizens. Dairy factories bought powder milk, restore the milk, produce goods. Therefore, without your interference, this issue will probably not be solved, if we promote the launch of powder milk and the manufacture products from it, it will result total losses,” Minnikhanov said.

Medvedev gave an errand to look into the situation.

“Yes, we have a common market with our friends, partners from the Eurasian Union, moreover, we can not limit it in virtue of a signed agreement, but ultimately, we should think about our citizens,” Medvedev said, specifying that to block the supply of normal milk and open the market for powder milk only for compliance with economic principles is not appropriate.

The Russian Investment Forum is taking place in Sochi, on February 15-16. This is a traditional platform for presentation of the investment and economic potential of the Russian Federation. As many as 377 agreements in the amount of 490 billion roubles were concluded last year.
